Simple Elegance

This wedding was held at the Andover Country Club. The goal was simple but elegant style. The bride also wanted to use some decorative paper she had found and fell in love with. We wrapped the vases with the paper and tied it off with a ribbon bow that matched the bridesmaid dresses. The result was beautiful!
The bride wanted a garden style for her bouquet which is one of my favorites. It is a little looser and less "perfect" than a tightly tied dome shape bouquet, but it really lets the beauty of the flowers shine through.

It's been a while!

What a whirlwind season this summer was! I am so lucky to have worked with terrific couples and at some amazing venues.
My goal was to blog about each wedding as they came along but it just didn't happen. Over the next week I am going to post highlights from some of my favorite weddings.

The wedding below was held at the Ocean View Inn in Gloucester. What an amazing view they have. The bride wanted a light, summery feel and also wanted to use starfish in her designs. We used lots of white and green hydrangea, peonies for the bride's bouquet and even made starfish wands for the flower girls.

Eileen and Erek

The rain and drizzle in New England has been constant for almost the entire month of June. I had the news on today and I think I heard them say that we have only had five sunny days since the beginning of the month. This does not bode well for wedding season. However, last Friday, luck was with Eileen and Erek. It rained all morning but just a few hours before their ceremony the sun came out full force. I was so happy for them. Their wedding was at the beautiful Glen Magna Estate in Danvers. The grounds have the most amazing gardens. Below are a few shots I took of their flowers. Eileen chose a palette of different pinks with chocolate brown accents. One of Eileen's favorite blossoms are wax flowers so we used a pink variety along with roses and stock flower in her bouquets and arrangements. Congratulations and continued good luck to Eileen and Erek!

Jackie and Chris

Yesterday I had the pleasure of providing the flowers for a wedding at the Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA. I met with Jackie and her mom several times during the planning process and they were both great to work with. Jackie wanted her flowers to be soft and romantic with a vintage feel. We used creams and soft golden colors that would compliment both the decor of the Lyman Estate and the teal color that her bridesmaid wore.
The flowers I used were so fragrant! We included freesia and garden roses which both have a gorgeous scent. My studio couldn't have smelled any better. In addition to those we used hydrangea, peonies, queen Ann's lace and lisianthus. She chose freesia blossoms to decorate her cake and it looked so classic and elegant.
Jackie also chose to add a little twist to the tradition of tossing a bouquet. We made bouquet for her to throw that was made up of three smaller bouquets. Once tossed the three separate. Each of the smaller bouquets also had a sweet fortune tied to the handle and hopefully brought the catcher some good luck!
Below are a few photographs courtesy of the couple's photographer Ashley O'Dell. She did an amazing job and I am am thankful that she shared these images with me. Under those is a collage of pictures I took myself.
Best wishes to Jackie and Chris!

Abby and Jonah

Congratulations to Abby and Jonah! They were married at a quaint New England church and followed up with their reception at a beautiful estate right on the water in Gloucester. Below are some photos I took of their flowers. They chose a palette of saturated colors- purple, green, deep pink. I loved making the boutonnieres...the groom requested a blue magic vanda orchid for himself and it is such a beautiful flower. Orange orchids were chosen for the groomsmen and green cymbidium orchids for the fathers. Starfighter lilies were used in the arrangements and they were so beautiful I snapped a photo of them all by themselves.
Best wishes to Abby and Jonah!

Melissa and Iver's Wedding

Congratulations to Melissa and Iver! I had the pleasure of working with Melissa for her floral designs. She wanted a homey atmosphere for her reception which was held at The Smith Barn in Peabody. Bold persimmon and navy were the colors we used and they made a gorgeous statement. Melissa also had me add some meaningful elements to her flowers. Her bouquet handle had a photo of her dog and her husband likes to cook so we used sage in his boutonniere. I had a great time working on this wedding and I wish Melissa and Iver all the best for many years to come!

Thank you to Will at William Tangorra Photography for sharing these beautiful photos!

It's been a while...

I can't believe how long it has been since my last post. This year has been going by so quickly. As wedding season approaches I will try to be better about posting...I am so excited about all the weddings I have coming up. All of my clients have beautiful ideas for me to work with. In the meantime here is a sample of a few things I have worked on in the past few months.

I love my job!!

I really do love my job. Each time I deliver flowers to an event it gives me such a good feeling...it is an honor that people include me in the important events of their lives and it is so rewarding to bring just a little bit of joy to people. In the middle of the winter there is an extra bonus. On a snowy day like today it is such a pleasure to work with the flowers that are a reminder of warmer weather and to be able to bring a little bit of nature indoors.
For this weekend I was hired to make a few special arrangements for a young girl's birthday party. My client wanted the sweetest pinks and I was able to find some really special flowers for her. These arrangements include tuberose, which has an amazing fragrance, wax flower, pale pink roses and pink anemones. I loved them so much I had to buy a few for my own table as well.
Enjoy these photos and stay warm!
